FP&A

A budget that updates itself. Scenarios in minutes.

Plan versus actual every month without a reforecast weekend. Scenario questions answered from the live model. Owners see their budget and their variance, not a spreadsheet tab.

The problem

FP&A is the job nobody has time to do well.

The Planning Agent keeps the budget alive. It compares plan to actuals as the month closes, re-forecasts the year from what actually happened, and answers 'what if' questions from a model that is never more than a day old.

  • The annual budget is stale by February

It was built in November on assumptions that lasted six weeks. Everyone knows it is wrong; nobody has time to rebuild it.

  • Variance analysis is a ritual, not a signal

The numbers get compared, a comment gets written, and nothing changes because the analysis arrives too late to act on.

  • Scenarios take a weekend

'What if we open the second office in Q3?' should take ten minutes. It takes a rebuilt model and someone's Saturday.

What it does

The whole job, not a feature of it.

Everything the Planning Agent handles day to day. Anything material waits for your approval; everything else simply gets done.

  • 01

    Driver-based budget

Headcount, pricing, pipeline, and unit costs as drivers, so the plan moves when the business moves.

  • 02

    Plan vs. actual on close

Variance by department and line, explained from the ledger, delivered to budget owners the day the month locks.

  • 03

    Rolling reforecast

Year-end forecast re-run monthly from actuals plus updated drivers. No manual rebuild.

  • 04

    Scenario modelling

Hiring plans, price changes, new markets. Ask in plain language; get the P&L and cash impact.

  • 05

    Budget-owner views

Each owner sees their lines, their variance, and their remaining budget — nothing else.

How it runs

Connect once. Set the rules. Approve the exceptions.

The agent works inside the systems you already run and never becomes the system of record. Here is the sequence from day one.

  1. 01

    Import the current plan

Your spreadsheet budget, as is. The agent maps it to the ledger's accounts and finds the drivers.

  2. 02

    Confirm the drivers

Headcount, pricing, volumes. You confirm the assumptions the agent inferred.

  3. 03

    Compare every month

When the period locks, plan versus actual is computed, explained, and sent to owners.

  4. 04

    Reforecast and ask questions

The year-end view updates. Scenario questions are answered from the same model.

Guardrails

What it will never do. What always waits for you.

Thresholds make the routine automatic and the rest deliberate. These limits are not settings you might forget to enable; they are how the agent is built.

  • Never changes the approved budget. Reforecasts are versions, not overwrites.

  • Never shares a budget owner's lines with another owner.

  • Never presents a scenario as a recommendation. It shows the numbers; you decide.

  • Never uses an assumption that has not been confirmed by a human.

Each approval arrives with the reasoning attached and is logged whether you approve or decline.

What it learns

The brain is yours. Not ours.

The Planning Agent captures the judgment that usually lives in one person's head and writes it down in plain language. You can read it, correct it, and export it at any time.

Full export, always
  • N01

That marketing spend always lands a month after it is committed, so the variance is timing, not overspend.

  • N02

How revenue actually ramps for a new hire in sales, from your history rather than a rule of thumb.

  • N03

Which budget owners want the detail and which want the one-line summary.

  • N04

The assumptions the board challenged last time, so they are flagged before the next one.

Runs on
