Layers over your ledger, not a replacement for it.

Stratum agents connect to the books you already keep, learn how your business actually runs, act within the limits you set, wait for your approval on anything material, and write down everything they do. Five stages. One system of record: yours.

Five stages

Connect. Learn. Act. Approve. Audit.

Every agent runs the same loop. The first two stages happen before it touches anything. The last two are how you stay in charge of everything it does.

Stage 01 · Connect

Link the ledger and the sources around it — bank feeds, payment processors, mailboxes, documents. Read access where reading is enough; scoped write access only where the agent's job requires it.

  • QuickBooks Online live; Xero in progress; NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Zoho Books, and Tally on the roadmap
  • Bank and card feeds are read-only. No agent holds credentials that can move funds
  • Mailbox access is scoped to the folders and senders the agent needs
  • No migration. The ledger stays where it is and stays the system of record
The strata

A cross-section of the stack.

Your ledger stays at the bottom, untouched. Agents are layers on top of it. What they learn goes into one judgment layer, and everything material passes through your approvals.

Six layers. The bottom one is yours already. The top two are how you stay in control.

Yours to read, edit, export

Judgment layer

What every agent has learned about how your business runs. Plain language, editable, exportable. Yours.

  • Payment behaviour per customer and vendor
  • Approval routes and thresholds
  • Recurring patterns and known exceptions
Integrations

The systems you already use.

Read access where reading is enough. Scoped write access only to the ledger objects an agent owns. We prioritise new integrations by design-partner demand.

Approvals

Thresholds make the routine automatic and the rest deliberate.

Drag the threshold and watch which of this morning's actions would run on their own and which would wait in your inbox. Some never run alone, whatever the number.

Thresholds are set by amount, counterparty, account, or action type. Some actions wait no matter what: anything that moves money, files a return, locks a period, or escalates with a customer.

Audit trail

Every action explains itself.

The log runs from the journal entry back to the reasoning: what the agent saw, which rule it applied, what it proposed, who approved it. Recorded at the moment of the decision, never reconstructed.

Principles

Four rules the platform is built around.

They are not features we can turn off. They are the shape of the system.

  1. 01 / 04

The ledger is the system of record

We never become it. Agents read from and write to the books you already keep, through the same APIs your accountant uses.

  2. 02 / 04

    Judgment belongs to the customer

What the agent learns about your business is stored in plain language, shown to you, and exportable in full. It is not a moat. It is your property.

  3. 03 / 04

    Humans decide anything material

Money movement, filings, period locks, write-offs, and customer-facing escalations always wait for a person. Thresholds make the routine automatic and the rest deliberate.

  4. 04 / 04

    Every action explains itself

The agent records what it saw and why it acted at the moment it acted. Auditability is not a report we generate later. It is how the system runs.

Connect a ledger. Watch the layers form.

We onboard a small number of companies at a time and sit with you through the first month. Tell us what you run and we will tell you plainly whether we are a fit.
